Easter Help
Yikes, I know Valentines day was just yesterday but I've been starting to look ahead to next month.. Easter is early this year, and I'm determined to do something besides CANDY this year... we've made it a tradition to put coins and a few $1 bills in the eggs instead of all candy but still I really want to come up with something unique and fun for our Egg hunt this year. If you have any suggestions please share!!! It's hard to balance holidays with family tradtions... religious meanings and feel like I've suceeded. We do our Egg hunt on Saturday because growing up my mother refused to mix the "fun" Easter celebrations with the "true" easter celebrations so even though the "easter bunny" visited all of our Mormon neighbors on Sunday, he always came to our home on Friday night... looking back what a wonderful lesson this has taught me, and now with my own family I've continued it as well. The world is so full of "stuff" that I feel the need to seperate the 2, the holiday from the true meaning of the season... we do the same thing if Christmas falls on Sunday, Santa visits Friday night that year. I think for me it's been important to teach my children the difference between what the world celebrates and what we are truly celebrating during this very special holidays.

Living Life
So Mike's brother Dave decided about 6 or 8 months ago to quit his job working as a "trainer of sorts" for HP, use the money from selling his Townhome and DRIVE to Argentina, SOLO... Okay now at first the idea just seems quite unreal... why would anyone in their right mind quit a great paying job, sell their "things" and head out in a truck filled with food, water, Coke and a roof top tent to travel on backroads all the way to the tip of Argentina??? To tell you the truth when I first got the e-mail from Mike's mom about Dave's Journey... I can honestly say it "didn't surprise me", Dave's single, never married, 33, he loves the outdoors and his Land Cruiser (and all of the off road adventures that come with it). But still, Mike and I wondered if he would actually do it... well here we are 4 months into his journey in "awe" of the adventure he is living. Man, to tell you the truth if I were single I would find my "Argentina", quit my job and head there tomorrow... I really envy him!
If you get the chance I totally recommend his blog.... it follows is adventure from the beginning (meaning preparing his truck for the "ride").

Spring where are you?
I don't know if it's just me or if EVERYONE I know is really sick... it is so crazy to me. There are so many different illness making the rounds I can't keep up... Throwing up... fevers, sore throats, coughing, aching, sneezing, barking, crying, whining... it's every where. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Connors family is going to stay healthy for a while now... I think a month of the ups and downs of such a variety of illness is more than enough for one family.
So I ask the question... SPRING where are you? Please Spring hurry and take away the mucky, yukcy, wet and cold weather that seems to be lingering longer than it should. PLEASE Spring, find us. Yes, I am fine with the fact that the day after the 1st day of Spring I will turn 32... at this rate with all of the sickness and germs the aging process seems pretty trivial... I'm wishing for you to come QUICKLY... please...

Summer 2007 at the park

Ammon loves to swing (Hailey was pushing and got distracted)

Hailey sliding, Noah telling her to get moving...

Faith "balancing"

Noah, Hailey, top of Ammons head and Faith

Noah CAMERA ready!
We spent one of the days that Mike was home
on "vacation" or post operation time off and we
had lunch and played at the park. Fun family time!
Faith's 11th Birthday

Faith's Cake, Ammon blowing out the candles and Noah watching (back of Hailey and Wendy's heads)

Faith let her siblings each open one of her gifts, Hailey's famous Expression (What?)

FINALLY all the candles are lit NOW blow them all out before your brothers do!
Faith's Cake this year was a Chocolate Cake with
Cool Whip topping and toffee and butterscotch!
Yum, Yum!
